As the 17th Lok Sabha term in India is set to expire on June 16, 2024, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule of Lok Sabha elections on March 16.
The polls were conducted in seven phases, starting from April 19 to June 1. The results will be declared on June 4.
The polls were conducted in Lakshadweep on April 19, which is in the first phase.

How many Lok Sabha seats are there in Lakshadweep?
The Union territory has only one Lok Sabha seat. Mohammed Faizal Pp from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won the elections in Lok Sabha 2019 polls by securing 22,851 votes.
Key Candidates
- The Indian National Congress (INC) has handed the ticket to Muhammed Hamdulla Sayeed from Lakshadweep in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
- NCP (Sharat Pawar) has fielded Mohammad Faisal whereas NCP (Ajit Pawar) has handed the thicket to TP Yusuf from Lakshadweep.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)'s Mohammed Faizal Pp secured 22,851 votes.
