Srinagar, India
National Conference president Farooq Abdullah spoke some strong words while condemning the terror attack in Gagangir, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday (Oct 21).
Abdullah asked Pakistan to stop spreading terrorism in its neighbouring country and halt any kind of terror activities if they want to establish good relations with New Delhi.
The terrorist attack happened days after Farooq Abdullah's National Conference formed government in Jammu and Kashmir with the support of Congress from outside and Omar Abdullah took oath as the union territory's chief minister.
Speaking about the terror attack, Abdullah said that Kashmir will never become Pakistan.
"I want to tell the leadership in Pakistan that if they want good relations with India, they need to put an end to this. Kashmir Pakistan nahi banega (Kashmir will never become Pakistan). Let us live with dignity and succeed," Abdullah said.
Pakistan will have to face 'very severe' results: Abdullah
He said that Pakistan will have to face "very severe" results if it continues fostering terrorism on its soil.
"If they couldn't create a Pakistan for 75 years, how would it be possible now?... It is time to end terrorism, otherwise the results will be very severe... How will talks be held if they kill our innocent people?" the leader added.
"This attack was very unfortunate... Immigrant poor labourers and a doctor lost their lives. What will the terrorists get from this? Do they think they will be able to create a Pakistan here... We are trying to put this to an end so we can move on from the misery," Abdullah said.
