Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra directed on Friday that biometric attendance system was to be made compulsory for all Government employees.

He further said that any government employee not enrolled under the system will not be able to draw any salary.

The discussions were raised in an all-party meeting between the governor and the mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The meeting which was called to discuss measures for restoring peace in the state was attended by Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of National Conference, President of State Congress unit Ghulam Ahmad Mir, General secretary of Peoples Democratic Party Dilawar Mir, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sat Sharma, President of Peoples Democratic Front Hakim Yasin and many others.

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was not present in the meeting but called on Vohra during the day.

After reviewing the security preparations of Amarnath Yatra, the governor also assured the peaceful conduct of the Amarnath Yatra. 

The Governor's Rule in the state came into effect after Mehbooba Mufti resigned as Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister following the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) exit from its alliance with the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
