Jio services down for thousands of users across India, netizens react

Thousands of users reported an outage of Reliance Jio services on Tuesday (Sep17), affecting the connectivity of networks across various parts of the country. Many people took tosocial media to complain andsharememes about the outage, with#jiodown trending on X.
Down Detector, a website that records outages of online services, showed a spike in reports around noon with 10,382 reports. According to the data, 60 per cent of users reported no signal, 21 per cent had issues with mobile Internet, while 19 per centreported JioFiber problems.
Netizens took to X by posting about the outage. A user shares on X, "Jio network down for users in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Cuttack, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Nagpur region. The reports started coming in this morning."
However, manyX users claim it was also down in other parts of the country. Users also reported issues with the Jio website and app, claiming they could notrecharge their plans.

One user expressed their disappointment with the services and wrote,"Jio network has serious problems. The switchover from 4G LTE to 5G is never smooth. Latching up (with best available signal station) problems when migrating to one cell area to another. Always had to restart or use sim enable/disable feature."

While there is no official statement given by the company yet, some people claim the outage was due to a fire at the Jio Data Centre.
Memes took oversocial media aspeople sharedtheir humorous take on the situation.
