Delhi MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely today lashed out at BJP leaders for claiming that Congress leaders, before observing a fast at Rajghat in Delhi, ate a restaurant.
Delhi BJP leader Harish Khurana noted earlier that Congress leaders were seen eating at a restaurant in Delhi before sitting on a protest and observing fast at Rajghat over atrocities on Dalits.
Lovely retorted saying that the photograph was taken earlier in the day before 8 am. He further added that the fast is symbolic in nature and will be observed from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm today. It is not an indefinite hunger strike.
He further added that the BJP should focus on running the country rather than looking into what others are eating.
"This is what is wrong with these people. Instead of properly running the country, they concentrate on what we eat," Lovely added.
Congress leaders in Delhi have called for a fast to protest clashes during Dalit protests on April 2. Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi will also join the leaders later in the today at Rajghat.
Dalit groups called for a nationwide shutdown, bandh, to protest Supreme Court's recent ruling on the SC/ST Act.
