The last of the five Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) project of Indian Coast Guard ‘Rani Rashmoni’ was commissioned into the Indian Coast Guard on Monday in Andhra Pradesh.

The vessel was commissioned at Visakhapatnam by Additional-Director General, Indian Coast Guard VSR Murthy in the presence of Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard) KR Nautiyal and guests from central and state governments.

The 51 meter ship named after famous legendary leader ‘Rani Rashmoni’ of Kolkata has been designed and built indigenously. It also includes state-of-the-art equipped with the most advanced and sophisticated navigational and communication sensors and equipment.

ICGS Rani Rashmoni also includes three MTU 4000 series diesel engines of 2,720 KW capacity each, coupled with three Rolls Royce Kamewa jets and can achieve a maximum speed of 34 knots (63 kmph).

ICGS ‘Rani Rashmoni’ will comprise four officers and 34 men and is commanded by Navdeep Safaya.
