Rahul Chaudhary, a man from Greater Noida, was arrested for growing cannabis in a high-tech setup inside his apartment. He had been cultivating premium cannabis, known as "OG," in over 50 pots for the past four months.

Chaudhary transformed several rooms in his flat into a cannabis nursery, using specialised lights to mimic sunlight and create an ideal growing environment. The plants were cultivated for illegal sale, with orders fulfilled through the dark web.

Raid and large-scale seizure

A joint operation by the Narcotics Department and local police led to the discovery of the operation as per Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Noida, Saad Miya Khan. Authorities seized cannabis worth around INR 50 lakh ($ 59256.70). They also found that Chaudhary was purchasing cannabis seeds online to grow the plants at home.

Police revealed that Chaudhary used the dark web to secretly sell cannabis, fulfilling orders discreetly. Authorities are continuing to investigate his network. Chaudhary is originally from Meerut.

Ongoing investigation  

Deputy Commissioner of Police Saad Miya Khan confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to uncover any accomplices involved in the operation.
