Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Murmu Soren on Saturday (Mar 30) met Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and the family membersof jailed AAP leaders, including Sunita Kejriwal (wife of Arvind Kejriwal), Seema Sisodia (wife of Manish Sisodia) and Anita Singh (wife of Sanjay Singh).

She took to her official X handle and wrotethat women have immense power and that she along with the wives of all arrested AAP leaders will fight unitedly against the "autocratic forces".

"Women are powerhouses. We are the foundation of home, society and creation. Our social, economic and political role is unique. We women have immense power, which can change society, and give it a new direction and without our active support, the progress of any society is not possible," Kalpana wrote.

"To further strengthen this thought, today I met respected Sonia Gandhi ji, Sunita Kejriwal ji, Seema Sisodia ji, Anita Singh ji in New Delhi and this strengthened the resolve to fight unitedly against the autocratic forces and to uproot them from our country," she added.

Sunita Kejriwal launches WhatsApp drive to rally support for jailed husband

Meanwhile, the wife of jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal, on Friday (Mar 29) launched a WhatsApp campaign calling on people to show support for the AAP supremo.

"We are starting a drive from today - Kejriwal ko aashirvaad. You can send your blessings and prayers to Kejriwal on this number," she said in a video conference.

She added that her husband is a patriot and courageous man. "My husband true patriot. The way he put his stand in court requires a lot of courage," she added.

Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday (Mar 28) extended Kejriwal's Enforcement Directorate cutody till April 1 in the excise policy case.

The central probe agency had sought a seven-day extension of the Delhi chief minister's custodial remand at the court stating that they would be requiring further interrogation of Kejriwal in order to confront him with a set of other people.

However, the court stated that the AAP chief has to be produced before it on Monday (Apr 1) at 11 am.

He was produced in the court before special Judge Kaveri Baweja who extended the ED remand period until April 1, 2024.
