The second day at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit commenced with the morning plenary session on 'We Can Do It! Discussions on Innovations in Workforce Development and Skills Training'.
The session was moderated by Mr K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for IT E&C and included eminent female personalities like Ivanka Trump, Advisor to the President of the United States, Cherie Blair, Founder, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, CBE, QC; Chanda Kochhar, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Bank, Limited and Karen Quintos, Chief Customer Officer, Dell EMC as panellists.
As the panellist discussed ways to provide skills and training to women entrepreneurs, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Bank, Limited spoke at length about creating an environment that is conducive for women to work. Ms Kochhar noted that many women who also manage their families find it difficult to strike a balance between work and household responsibilities. She pressed for creating workplaces that understandworking women and allowthem to grow and prosper on their merit.
"Women must not give up when they are just starting their family, it is easy to give up, one must not. Have conviction, it will take you forward. Your family and their support will drive you. What gives a woman inspiration is the pride that her family feels at her every step," noted Chanda Kochhar.
"We must create an environment where a woman is given equal opportunities based on her merit. Women must be given extra care at certain stages in her life," she added.

"Education, encouragement, employment - what we need for women," concluded Chanda Kochhar. She also called her children as her biggest inspiration. She shared the presence of her daughter at the summit, "she is present here, on her own merit, as an entrepreneur," she exclaimed.
Ms Kochhar talked at length about educating women, "If you educate a man, you educate an individual; if you educate a woman, you educate an entire generation," she said. She also took pride in enumerating ways in which Indian women continue to contribute to nation's glory, " I take great pride in sharing that close to 40% of the Indian banking sector is headed by women," she noted.
