Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty, were recently seen at Third Wave Coffee, a popular coffee shop in the Indian city of Bengaluru. Their casual outing has attracted attention on social media, with pictures of the couple quickly going viral.
Spiritual visit before the coffee shop stop
Before heading to Third Wave Coffee, the couple visited Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar on Wednesday (Nov 6). They were joined by Akshata's parents, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty, a member of India's Rajya Sabha. During their visit, the family participated in temple rituals and offered prayers to Guru Raghavendra Swamy, with images from the visit also circulating on social media.

This visit follows a similar one last year when Rishi and Akshata visited the Akshardham Temple in New Delhi before the G20 Summit, where they participated in traditional prayers.
Rare public appearance
Rishi Sunak, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers and Akshata Murty, wearing a pastel-coloured kurta, seemed to enjoy a peaceful coffee date. Their visit to the cafe was a rare moment of public appearance, which excited fellow customers who shared their surprise encounters online.

Rishi Sunak's leadership journey
Rishi Sunak served as the United Kingdom's prime minister from October 2022 until his resignation in July 2024, making history as the first British Indian to hold the top post. He was succeeded by Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party.
