V Maitreyan, AIADMK MP from E K Palaniswami-O Panneerselvam faction(EPS-OPS) said today the Election Commission has "orally informed" the party that "two leaves" symbol has been granted to it.
Maitreyan said he waiting for the "hard copy" from the Election Commission.
"Election Commission has given judgement in our favour, we are very happy," Tamil Nadu chief minister Palaniswami said.
Both factions of AIADMK, E K Palaniswami-O Panneerselvam and TTV Dhinakaran had earlier filed a written submission in Election Commission in the "two leaves" symbol case.
"We had facts on our side and the majority of MLAs, MPs and party workers were with us. All this was taken into consideration," Palaniswami added.
The faction, led by party leader TTV Dhinakaran had filed 111-page written submission while the group led by Tamil Nadu chief minister E K Palaniswami and Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam had filed 82-page submission to plead their case to the Election Commission.
After former chief minister J.Jayalalithaa's death last year both factions in the AIADMK had approached the Election Commission to grant them the party symbol.
