Delhi was hit by a powerful thunderstorm with wind speeds of 50-70 kmph on Monday night with the Meteorological department predicting rain in Delhi and adjoining areas in NCR.
Flights were delayed in the capital with power cuts and fallen trees reported in several areas.
Dust storm have already claimed over 130 lives in North India and left several wounded. The Delhi traffic police has issued a traffic advisory.

Schools in Haridwar, Ghaziabad and Meerut are to remain shut today.
Rajasthan continues to reel under dust storm and heatwave. Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Barmer recorded maximums of 41.2, 41 and 40.7 degrees respectively on Monday. A dust storm occurred in Sriganganagar disrupting normal life in the area.

The Meteorological Department has issued duststorm warning with light rains in Alwar, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur and Jaipur.
Meerut in Uttar Pradesh experienced dust storm with educational institutions due to be closed today.
The Met Department has predicted more dust and thundershowers in North India today.
