The incident took place at Dargah Sharif Patte Shah, which is located near Humayun's Tomb.
At least six people died on Friday evening after the roof of a dargah collapsed near Delhi's Humayun's Tomb.
"Six people have lost their lives in the incident...It is a matter of investigation, and action will be taken if someone was living illegally here in the ASI site," said District Magistrate South-East Delhi, Sravan Bagaria.
The incident took place at Dargah Sharif Patte Shah, which is located near Humayun's Tomb in Delhi'sNizamuddin area. Police and fire department personnel are also present in the area.
The call regarding the incident was received by the authorities at 3.55 pm. The injured were rushed to different hospitals, including AIIMS Trauma and LNJP hospitals.
Multiple rescue agencies, including the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), Delhi Police, NDRF, and Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), were pressed into service following the incident.
Soon after the incident, Fire Department personnel and emergency responders also remained present at the scene to assist in operations.
The area around the dargah remained sealed off as structural engineers and investigators examined the site.
