Delhi excise policy case: High court directs Kejriwal's wife to take down video of him addressing court

The Delhi High Court (HC) on Saturday (June 15) directed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita to take down a videoof him addressing the courtpersonally after he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the excise policy case. The videos were posted by Sunita on social media.
According to a report by LiveLaw, a division bench of JusticesNeena Bansal Krishnaand Amit Sharma issued a notice on a PIL against Sunita and other peoplefor allegedly violating the Video Conferencing Rules.

The PIL, filed by Delhi-based lawyer Vaibhav Singh, alleged that the chief minister's wife, and others (identified asAkshay Malhotra, X user Nagrik-India Jeetega, Promila Gupta, Vineeta Jain and Dr Arunesh Kumar Yadav) willfully anddeliberately disobeyed the Video Conferencing Rules notified by the high court.

The plea sought the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probeand register FIR against those who conspired to record and share the audio and video of the court proceedings and putting the life of the trial court judge at high risk, LiveLaw reported.
“Several members of the Aam Aadmi Party including members of various other opposition parties have intentionally and deliberately and with willful intention to malign and manipulate the court proceedings done the audio and video recording of the court proceedings and circulated on social media platforms,” the plea said.
It further allegedthere was a preplanned conspiracy to record the audio or video recording of the court proceedings hatched by the CM and his AAP leaders.
Delhi court to hear CM's bail plea on June 19
On Friday, a Delhi court fixed June 19 as the date to hear the bail plea of CM Kejriwal in the excise policy case.Additional Sessions Judge Mukesh Kumar adjourned the matter after the ED sought time to file a reply in the matter, the news agency PTI reported.
The judge also directed the Tihar jail authorities to take care of Kejriwal'smedical needs in judicial custody.
