Cold-blooded murder: Man beats ex-girlfriend to death with spanner in broad daylight near Mumbai

In a horrifying incident near Mumbai in the morning hours of Tuesday (June 18), a 20-year-old man brutally beat his ex-girlfriend to death with a spanner in the west Indian city.
The incident happened when the road was quiet busy with people all around. However, bystanders looked on without intervening in the incident that led to the killing of the woman.
The victim, identified as Aarti Yadav, was attacked by Rohit Yadav in Vasai's East Chinchpada area around 8:30 am local time as she was on her way to work.
Security footage captured the chilling sequence of events, showing Rohit chasing Aarti and striking her repeatedly until she collapsed.

According to police, Rohit suspected that Aarti had moved on to another relationship, fueling his rage.
The CCTV footage depicted him running up behind her and delivering fatal blows with the spanner. One bystander attempted to intervene but Rohit pushed him away and continued the assault unabated.

After the brutal attack, an onlooker recorded another disturbing video showing Rohit standing over Aarti's lifeless body and holding the bloodied spanner.
He was heard screaming at her, "Why did you do this to me, why did you do this?" before delivering one final blow.
Later, the man discarded the weapon before he went away.
Rohit Yadav has been apprehended by police and will face charges of murder.

Authorities stated that Rohit had been distraught ever since Aarti ended their relationship and suspected her of moving on with someone else.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about public apathy in such situations.
The woman's family approached a Maharashtra police station three days before the incident. Reaching the station at 1 am, they tried to complain aboutthe man.
However, the police reportedly told the family that 'nothing will happen'.
"On Saturday also, Rohit Yadav had beaten my sister and broken her mobile. We went to the Valiv police station at one in the night, but instead of registering the case, the police sent us back saying come tomorrow," Aarti Yadav's sister said.
"We went back again on Sunday noon and were there all day. They called the man and hit him a few times and then let him go. Police boli kuchh nahin hoga (The cops said nothing will happen)," she added.
