Budget concern: TDP sends notice to Rajya Sabha, set to meet Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar

NDA's alliance partner the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) sent a notice to the Rajya Sabha today over Budget allocation toAndhra Pradesh.

TDP leaders are set to meet Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar to register their concern on the Budget.

There is widespread speculation that the NDA partner is disgruntled with BJP over the "raw deal" that the state has received in the Union Budget announced last week.

Reports said TDP leaders may also register their protest against the Budget on the floor of the House from today.

The Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had met in Amravati on Sunday to review the party's alliance with the BJP at the centre. The Budget was also discussed during the meeting.

TDP leader and Union minister Y Satyanarayana Chowdary had said after the Budget that "people are dissatisfied" because there is no specific mention of state issues in the Union Budget.

The party had convened a meeting of its MPs and senior leaders last week to discuss steps to ensure Budget sops before the bill is passed by Parliament. Chowdary had added that the TDP would raise the state's demands, if required, in Parliament.

The party is largely demanding the implementation of a special financial package for the state including setting up of railway zone, deficit finance and schemes related to the development of Amaravati as the state capital.
