Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday (Apr 7) took the internet by storm with his goof up during a rally where he expressed confidence that NDA would win "more than 4,000 seats" in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

His prediction is almost ten times of the sanctioned strength of Lok Sabha, which is 543 and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's target for NDA is 400.

JD(U) supremo Kumar, who ditched the INDIA bloc and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) three months ago, made the gaffe at a rally in Nawada district where he spoke just before PM Modi.

One of the segments of his speech garnered traction online where he can be heard saying "four lakh" before correcting himself and saying, "char hazaar se bhi zyada (more than 4,000)".

He can be later seen touching PM Modi's feet while sitting next to him before greeting him with folded hands.

'Aghast to see Kumar touching PM Modi's feet,' says RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav

Yadav, who served as Kumar's deputy when his party shared power with JD(U), slammed Kumar stating that he felt "anguish" over Bihar CM's conduct.

"I was aghast to see a photo in which Nitish Kumar can be seen touching the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is such an elderly person. Has been a chief minister for so long. Few of his counterparts have had such a long tenure," said Yadav.

He then referred to Kumar's famous rivalry with PM Modi following which he snapped ties with BJP for the very first time.

"Was not Narendra Modi the same person whom Nitish ji often accused of deviating from the conciliatory path of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani? Had he not cancelled a dinner to which the then Gujarat CM was invited and returned the financial aid offered by the western state?" he added.

RJD leader Sarika Paswan also took to her social media account X and took a swipe at Kumar sharing the video of his speech.

"The chief minister wanted to wish more than four lakh MPs to the PM. Then he probably thought it would be too much and 4,000 would be sufficient," Paswan wrote on X in a post in Hindi.
