The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the medical collegeclarified that the reason behind tying the patients' was to keep them safe and to prevent them from falling off.
He said that the beds in the hospitaldid not have side guards and the patients' did not have any relatives, so to avoid them from falling they were tied to the bed.

He added that the staff in the hospital cannot sit with the patients'throughout the day.
