
Security forces today killed bothterrorists in Srinagar's Karan Nagar area who were holed up inside a building.
The security forces have now begun clearing the area after killing both terrorists.
The encounter began over 24 hours ago aftertwo terrorists tried to enter a CRPF camp on Monday. The security men immediately opened fire as the terrorists fled the area.
The terrorists were later tracked down inthe Karan Nagar area near the CRPF camp by security forces leading to a gun battle.
"One LeT terrorist has been neutralised in Karan Nagar encounter," SP Vaid, DGP, Jammu & Kashmir, said. Security officials confirmed the second terrorist has also beenkilled.
Earlier on Tuesday,Swayam Prakash Pani, IGP, Kashmir hadsaid:"We suspect the presence of two terrorists, the operation is in its final stage."
Meanwhile, security forces conducted search operation in Jammu's Raipur Domana area.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited J&K on Monday to monitor the situation.
The defence minister said Sunjuwan army camp attack which had taken place on Saturday wascarried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammed, adding that the attackers "enjoyed some local support".
