The Wayanad Lok Sabha Constituency of Kerala state is currently held by M I Shanavas of Indian National Congress. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, M I Shanavas beat Sathyan Mokeri of CPI by receiving 41.20 per cent of the votes cast in this constituency.

The key candidates in the Wayanad constituency for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are Rahul Gandhi of Congress and P P Suneer of Communist Party of India.

Exit polls predicted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA is coming back to power at the Centre with close to 300 seats.
