Now, they have teamed up for Priyadarshan's next film, Haiwaan, and in this film, Saif is the hero, and Akshay is the Haiwaan, as this is what all of us are now. Both of them are fantastic actors who know exactly what they are portraying on screen, and in this film, they have portrayed their parts fantastically well. But how is Haiwaan as a film? Watchable, just like other Bollywood thrillers. &nbsp; So needless to say, we as an Indian audience are habitual of watching these kinds of movies, which we also call ''thrillers.''</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>While it's a remake, this is one of those thriller films that gives a feeling that you have seen this kind of film before and can guess what is coming up next. Having said that, this film keeps you decently hooked throughout, and for this, the actors deserve the credit. However, when Priyadarshan is in the director's chair, a little touch of comedy is expected, and it plays well.</p>

Still from Haiwaan

<h3>Haiwaan: How is the story?</h3><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Oppam, starring Mohanlal, revolves around Shyam, a blind man who, despite his disability, lives his life independently with the help of his intelligence and highly developed sense of smell. He manages all his daily responsibilities on his own, from taking care of his household chores to working as the manager of a high-end residential society in Mumbai. Shyam is very close to a retired Chief Justice, Pradhan (Boman Irani), who has a daughter, Nandini (Pahal Ashok Choudhary), whom he has kept hidden from the world, and Shyam is the only person who knows about her. &nbsp; One day, Pradhan tells Shyam about Parshuram Gokhale, an innocent man whom Pradhan had once been forced to declare guilty of a crime he did not commit. After being convicted, Parshuram's entire family committed suicide.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Now, after being released from prison, Parshuram is on a revenge spree against everyone connected to his case, including Pradhan and his daughter Nandini, who is studying at a boarding school. However, after he successfully kills Pradhan, his next target is Nandini and how Blind Shyam will save the girl makes the story a two-hour thriller.</p><h3>Haiwaan - A thriller with a bittersweet taste</h3><p>First things first, Haiwaan is strongly held by Saif, who, as the blind man Shyam, manages to get everything right. He gets hero treatment and does all the heroic things. But it never goes overboard at any point in the film. But, as a viewer, it feels odd when a blind man sings and dances on the ferry or even at a marriage. Akshay is there, and he brings out his villainous side, which we haven't seen for a while now. So it feels fresh. But this pairing has surely worked for me, at least.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>Haiwaan falls short on two points: 1) timing, 2) a redundant story. Where the movie wins is in its execution, performances, cinematography, and music as well. While it lacks in two aspects, the other makes the film watchable if you don't watch it with the thought that it's a thriller.</p>

<p>A nearly two-and-a-half-hour film starts on an interesting note and, without wasting much time, builds up on the right track. The cat-and-mouse chase between Saif and Akshay's characters continues and holds your interest with their confrontations. But how much can two guys save a film when there is not much else to be explored? In thrillers, not everything becomes gripping with just serious zoom-ins and zoom-outs, shadowy or grey-toned shots, or a heavy tone.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>While all of this is happening, the film loses its grip with its subplot, and the police investigation was surely one of the most irritating parts. &nbsp; While Haiwaan is decently made, it suffers a bit from genre fatigue.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Haiwaan comes with the old-school vibe that works because of the performances and the camera work that makes the movie watchable.</p>

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's Haiwaan is a nearly two-and-a-half-hour film that revolves around a blind man, who goes every lenght to save the life a girl from the man, who is on a revenge spree. The movie is out in theatres.

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have come together on screen 18 years after their last collaboration, Tashan, which was a major flop. <p>Haiwaan film review: Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's film is dated, but it tries. The nearly two-and-a-half-hour film revolves around a blind man who goes to great lengths to save a girl. Whether he will be able to do it or not forms the rest of the plot.</p>

Ransom Canyon season 3 cancelled? Here’s why the Netflix drama won’t return

<p><strong>Ghamasaan film review: </strong>With Ghamasaan, Tigmanshu Dhulia is back in the world of crime. The gritty drama began streaming on ZEE5 on September 11 and revolves around a feared dacoit and a police officer determined to bring him down. Set against the rugged landscape of Bundelkhand, Ghamasaan stars Pratik Gandhi as IPS officer Aditya Singh and Arshad Warsi as the ruthless Maharaj. Rajpal Yadav and Ishita Dutta appear in supporting roles.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>There is plenty of material in Ghamasaan for a tense political crime thriller, from an intimidating antagonist and a determined cop to a region caught between fear and power. But does the film turn out to be as explosive as its title suggests? Let's find out.</p><h2>Plot of Ghamasaan</h2><p>The story of the film is set in Bundelkhand, where Maharaj has established himself as a dreaded dacoit with influence across several districts. He has been operating for years and has managed to hide from the authorities for several years. His network is protected by several layers of people, making it extremely difficult for the police to capture him.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/photos/arshad-warsi-s-birthday-special-munna-bhai-mbbs-to-asur-6-best-films-and-tv-series-of-the-actor-1776492460122"><strong>Arshad Warsi’s birthday special: Munna Bhai MBBS to Asur- 6 best films and TV series of the actor</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Ghamasaan review

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>The fear surrounding Maharaj continues to grow and people are forced to live under his control. His methods are brutal and anyone who challenges him risks severe consequences.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>An informer comes forward to give details about the dacoit and his operations and the police get a chance to infiltrate Maharaj’s network. But getting close to someone as powerful as Maharaj is a lot more complicated than simply finding him.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Meanwhile, the growing violence associated with Maharaj begins attracting greater political attention. His alleged influence over elections and his connections with powerful people turn the problem into something much larger than anyone had expected.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>And this is where we meet IPS officer Aditya Singh. Aditya is a dedicated, low-profile police officer, sent to the Chitrakoot region as part of a Special Task Force operation to take down Maharaj. Unlike the larger-than-life cops, Aditya relies more on patience and planning rather than becoming a "hero".</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/rasika-dugal-on-saanson-ki-mala-becoming-beena-tripathi-s-anthem-beautiful-to-see-it-find-a-completely-new-context-1789100215347"><strong>Rasika Dugal on ‘Saanson Ki Mala’ becoming Beena Tripathi’s anthem</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>As Aditya and his team begin studying Maharaj's network, they realise that they cannot reach Maharaj just by themselves. Informers, local contacts and Maharaj's own associates become crucial to the investigation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At the same time, Aditya's pursuit begins affecting his personal life. His wife, Aparna (Ishita Dutta), has to face the perils that come with her husband’s duty.</p><p>The deeper Aditya goes into the operation, the more complicated the battle becomes. He isn't only dealing with Maharaj; there is also pressure from the politicians and people within the system.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Rajpal Yadav's Kalika becomes an important part of the mission. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game between the STF and a dacoit who has ruled the region for years.</p><h2>What works and what doesn't</h2><p>One of the most effective elements of the film is, of course, the performances by the seasoned actors.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Pratik Gandhi does justice to the character of IPS Aditya Singh, who isn't written as a larger-than-life action hero. His performance isn't flashy, but does the work as a man trying to operate inside an environment where almost everyone has a hidden agenda.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Arshad Warsi is a versatile performer and the actor has proved it once again by turning into a violent and intimidating dacoit. He does bring menace to Maharaj, and the character's reputation is established long before he becomes a constant presence.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>However, the film has not fully explored the man behind the criminal. His brutality and influence are seen throughout 2 hours and 30 minutes, but Maharaj could have been a more layered villain. It would have been interesting to know what made him this way.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/hunkkaar-trailer-aneet-padda-fatima-sana-shaikh-vs-the-powerful-baapji-1789047771553"><strong>Hunkkaar trailer: Aneet Padda &amp; Fatima Sana Shaikh vs the powerful 'Baapji'</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Rajpal Yadav as Kalika is also one of the film's strengths. The character gives Yadav room to bring a balance of humour and vulnerability in an otherwise gruesome setting.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The villages, forests, language, costumes and overall visual setting are another good part of the film. Unlike the usual action movies, Ghamasaan's backdrop feels authentic and the political and criminal networks appear to grow naturally out of the region. It works well when the film shows how fear becomes part of everyday life due to Maharaj's influence.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Additionally, the political-criminal connection gives the story weight, as Maharaj's power isn't based solely on the guns his gang carries, but it also comes from the ecosystem around him.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Now, coming to the biggest problem in Ghamasaan, it's the film's pacing. The story has spent a considerable amount of time building Maharaj's reputation before Aditya comes into the picture. While it was necessary to present Warsi's character as more than an ordinary criminal, the execution can test the viewer's patience.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The opening portion was interesting in bits and pieces, but they don't always come together with enough momentum. The story becomes more engaging once Gandhi's Aditya arrives in Bundelkhand. This makes the film's second half feel stronger.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>And yes, the film doesn't provide something new. Ghamasaan is another story about a powerful criminal, an honest cop and a corrupt system.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/nayyi-navelli-teaser-yami-gautam-s-witchy-avatar-mohini-gives-fans-chills-1789034536227"><strong>Nayyi Navelli teaser: Yami Gautam's 'witchy' avatar Mohini gives fans the chills</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>No doubt, the film tries to distinguish itself through its grounded treatment, but it doesn't stand out.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Several supporting characters in the film are unevenly developed. Only Gandhi and Warsi have been given most of the attention.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>And the most disappointing portion is the climax, as it comes abruptly and quicker than expected</p>

<p> </p><p>And yes, the film doesn't provide something new. Ghamasaan is another story about a powerful criminal, an honest cop and a corrupt system.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/nayyi-navelli-teaser-yami-gautam-s-witchy-avatar-mohini-gives-fans-chills-1789034536227"><strong>Nayyi Navelli teaser: Yami Gautam's 'witchy' avatar Mohini gives fans the chills</strong></a></p><p> </p><p>No doubt, the film tries to distinguish itself through its grounded treatment, but it doesn't stand out.</p><p> </p><p>Several supporting characters in the film are unevenly developed. Only Gandhi and Warsi have been given most of the attention.</p><p> </p><p>For instance, Ishita Dutta's Aparna is important to Aditya's personal storyline but doesn't get enough material.</p><p> </p><p>Similarly, several members of the police team and Maharaj's network are introduced mainly to serve the plot.</p><p> </p><p>Rajpal Yadav's character was interesting, but he also could have been given a bigger role.</p><p> </p><p>The film introduces a political angle in the beginning itself, but does not go deeper.</p><p> </p><p>And the most disappointing portion is the climax, as it comes abruptly and quicker than expected.</p><h2>Verdict</h2><p>The crime drama has a strong setting and the two lead actors have done justice to their roles. Supporting actors have also contributed to the film. The rural atmosphere gives the story a realistic touch, but the screenplay is not as effective as it appeared in the beginning. Several aspects could have been explored more. There are some gripping sequences, but the overall experience remains familiar.</p><p> </p><p>If you enjoy grounded crime dramas, Ghamasaan has enough atmosphere and performances to make it worth watching, but do not expect a gripping or twisted battle between cop and criminal, as the film will leave you wanting more.</p>

Ghamasaan movie review: Ghamasaan, starring Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi, has arrived on Zee5. The crime thriller is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and revolves around a dacoit and a cop who are determined to take each other down.

Ghamasaan film review: With Ghamasaan, Tigmanshu Dhulia is back in the world of crime. Rajpal Yadav and Ishita Dutta appear in supporting roles. There is plenty of material in Ghamasaan for a tense political crime thriller, from an intimidating antagonist and a determined cop to a region caught between fear and power. But does the film turn out to be as explosive as its title suggests? Let's find out. Plot of Ghamasaan The story of the film is set in Bundelkhand, where Maharaj has established himself as a dreaded dacoit with influence across several districts. He has been operating for years and has managed to hide from the authorities for several years. His network is protected by several layers of people, making it extremely difficult for the police to capture him. The new documentary from Israeli “No Other Land” directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor got a roaring response from the audience, who stood and clapped for the team behind the documentary.

Venice Film Festival is currently underway, and on Thursday night, the festival saw its record-breaking 24.5-Minute standing ovation for a Gaza doc, NAZA. The new documentary from Israeli “No Other Land” directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor got a roaring response from the audience, who stood and clapped for the team behind the documentary. Gaza doc NAZA earns record-breaking 24.5- minute Venice ovation A chilling new documentary about Israel's AI-powered mass killing of civilians in Gaza from two Oscar-winning Israeli filmmakers received a 25-minute ovation at its premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Thursday. The audience clapped continuously for Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor after the screening, an AFP reporter witnessed, setting what is thought to be a new record in Venice after a 23-minute ovation for another film about Gaza last year. In their film "NAZA", Abraham and Szor used conversations with 24 different Israeli military or intelligence whistleblowers who spoke on condition that their identities be protected. "We are letting the soldiers and the officers speak about what they did," Abraham told AFP. "The goal was very simple: we wanted to hear in as much detail as possible, how the systems of killing in Gaza looked like, how they operated." The 80-minute film left many audience members stunned, with interviewees describing how they felt like they worked in a killing "factory" or a lethal video game. "NAZA" draws its name from a euphemism used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians that are expected to be killed in an airstrike. It was described as an "urgent, gut-punch" by film magazine Screen, while The Hollywood Reporter said it inspired "outrage...indignity as well. Most certainly disgust, on a profound level, for the current Israeli regime". Israel's bombardment of Gaza has left around 73,500 Palestinians dead and 174,500 wounded since October 2023, according to Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry, whose figures the United Nations deems reliable. The pounding of the territory followed an attack on Israel by Hamas militants on October 7, 2023, that resulted in the death of 1,219 people, according to an AFP tally based on official figures. First-person testimony - The men and women featured in "NAZA", with their voices and faces digitally altered, detail an AI-powered system known as "Lavender" that was used to identify people for assassination. "It was done on a mass scale, like a factory," one says, filmed like all of them at night on a roof terrace with an eerily quiet Tel Aviv as the background. "Lavender" uses data from the mass surveillance of Gaza, where the entire telecommunications network is monitored by Israel, to identify targets based on their phone calls, movements and interactions. "The systems parameters are so complex, it's hard to understand," one interviewee, who said he worked on the system, told the filmmakers. Others describe the systematic destruction of civilian homes, the disregard for war and humanitarian laws, and a "general atmosphere" of "hatred" towards Palestinians. "It's like a video game because everything is done remotely," one interviewee involved in identifying targets says at one point. Another describes it as "insanely fun". - Gaza films - The result of a nearly three-year investigation, "NAZA" is the only documentary in competition at this year's Venice Film Festival, which wraps up on Saturday. Ovations can be easily manipulated and are seen as an imperfect measure of a film, but they do give an indication of the impact on festival-goers and critics. Along with Palestinian peers Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal, Abraham and Szor won an Oscar in 2025 for their film "No Other Land" about Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank. Their latest movie has been produced by Britain's Jim Wilson with help from Jonathan Glazer -- the team behind Auschwitz-set Oscar winner "The Zone of Interest" -- as well as Britain's Guardian newspaper. The war in Gaza retains broad Israeli public support, but Abraham and Szor said they hoped it would encourage Western nations to drop their backing for Israel and apply pressure through sanctions. "Those of us inside Israel and Palestine trying to fight for change, need it," Abraham told AFP. "You are weakening the people inside who are supporting human rights and a political solution by refusing to act." Israel denies deliberately targeting civilians in Gaza, accusing Hamas of hiding among the population of the densely packed and besieged enclave where around two million people lived before the war. Last year, "The Voice of Hind Rajab", a docu-drama about the killing of a five-year-old Palestinian girl by Israeli forces, picked up second prize at the festival after receiving a 23-minute standing ovation at its premiere. Increasing numbers of top entertainment figures are openly criticising the Israeli government, as part of a shift in public opinion in Western countries against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's policies. Foreign journalists have been prevented from reporting from Gaza since the start of the conflict, except under tightly controlled conditions with the Israeli military.

<h2>More about DHOOMSDAY</h2><p>At the heart of<i> DHOOMSDAY</i> is an exploration of different musical sensibilities. The collaborations move across genres, languages, generations and artistic approaches, allowing Euphoria’s sound to interact with voices and perspectives that come from very different musical worlds. The album also brings together different lyrical voices, with its songwriting and lyricism adding another layer to the diverse musical conversations within the record.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The collaboration also reflects the larger philosophy behind <i>DHOOMSDAY. </i>With every song involving another artiste, the album becomes a meeting point for different voices, musical sensibilities and generations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“The idea was never to make an album where every song sounded the same. I wanted every collaboration to bring its own personality to the record. That is what makes <i>DHOOMSDAY</i> exciting for me — every artist has brought something that Euphoria could not have created alone. There are different languages, different generations, different lyricists and completely different musical sensibilities coming together, and that diversity is really the soul of the album,” Sen adds.</p>

Nearly three decades after KK gave us the iconic song Aapki Dua, popular band Euphoria has revived the song and given it a new spin in its latest album. The late singer's vocals have been used mostly along with Palash Sen's vocals to give the iconic song a fresh appeal.
