The trailer for Vettaiyan: The Hunter is out now. Starring superstar Rajinikanth and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, the forthcoming movie is packed with action, thriller and heavy dialogues.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie features a stunning star cast comprising Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, Kishore, and Abhirami, among others.

The two-minute trailer gives the audience a brief viewof Rajinikanth's movie. The teaser starts with a scene of protest going on in the city over a murder, and the police are struggling to catch the culprit, who probably has good connections with politicians.

As the police department struggles and matters become more intense, Rajinikanth enters as IPS officer, SP Ajith, who is an encounter specialist. Opposite of IPS Ajith's encounter thoughts, there is an advocate played by Amitabh Bachchan.

In the trailer, we also get a glimpse of Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil and Manju Warrier.

Directed by Gnanavel, the movie has received a U/A certificate from the CBFC. The movie is around 2 hours 43 minutes long. This is Rajinikanth's 170th film.

Vettaiyan is slated for release on October 10

Rajinikanth hospitalisation

The trailer was released two days after actor Rajinikanth was hospitalised in Chennai. He is said to havehad a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving the heart.

The actor is receiving treatment at the hospital.

News agency ANI shared a press note by Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on X that reads: “Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method. Senior interventional cardiacologist, Dr Sai Satish, placed a stent in the aorta, completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days. (sic)”.
