Sean "Diddy" Combshas issued a public apology via an Instagram post, which shows him calling his actions "inexcusable" and taking full responsibility for his actions after the shocking leak ofa 2016 video that shows him brutally beating his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
The video hadsurfaced online on Friday, raising several questions and eyebrows.
The hotel surveillance clip, obtained by CNN, is reportedly from March 5, 2016, and shows an incident that matches an allegation levied in Ventura's November sex trafficking, rape and physical abuse lawsuit against Diddy.
Interestingly, the two had settled the civil suit one day after it was filed.
Despite a months-long series of public allegations of physical and sexual violence against Combs, the hip-hop mogulvehemently denied the allegations, up until now. He now accepts his mistakes and has come forward to apologise.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy said in a video on Instagram. “I was f***ed up. I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable,” Combs said in the apology video.
"I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, started going to therapy and rehab, had to ask god for his mercy and grace,” he added.
The viral clip shows the rapper and producer, wearing only a bathrobe, running after Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles and brutally beating her. He can be seen grabbing Cassie by her neck and throwing her on the floor. He also kicked her twice and dragged her by her sweatshirt.
