Chris Evans took to Twitter last week to announce that Avengers 4 (tentatively titled film) will be his last outing as Captain America on screen.

Chris Evans will not be returning to Marvel’s Avengers after the last film from the franchise releases. In a post that broke many Marvel fans, Chris shared on Instagram what looks like a tribute to his character as he will not return as Captain America after Avengers 4. What will make your Monday sadder is Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man’s response to the post.

It started with Chris tweeting: "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day, to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor."

He added, "To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."

Robert in his response shared a ‘Toy Story’ photo featuring characters Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear who are the ultimate symbol of best friends forever along with the iconic dialogue from the movie, 'To Infinity and Beyond.' Robert added the word ‘War’, as an ode to ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
Robert captioned the photo: "We all know who the real sheriff in town is @ChrisEvans."

An emotional Chris responded with: "This guy...." with a King's crown emoticon as a way to honour Robert who is said to have brought the entire Avengers team together.

They continued chatting on Twitter:

We hope you would reconsider Chris and not leave us like this. You will forever be our Captain America.
