Ram Charan receives honorary doctorate in literature from Vels University

RRR actor Ram Charan received an honorary doctorate from Vels University, Chennai on Saturday. The actor was seen attending the institute’s 14th Annual Convocation which was held at its Pallavaram campus in Chennai.

The university also awarded Dr P Veeramuthuvel, the Project Coordinator at Chandrayaan, Dr GSK Velu, the Founder and CMD of Trivitron Healthcare, and table tennis player and Padma Shri awardee Achanta Sharath Kamal.

Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education TG Sitharam was also present at the event as its chief guest.

Several pictures shared on X by fan pages show the actor dressed in a red graduation gown and flaunting his big smile. Vels University also shared photos on their official X account, with a caption that read, "Thiru. Ram Charan, Indian actor, film producer, and entrepreneur, receiving an honorary Doctor of Literature degree from Vels University at their 14th Annual Convocation." Check it out below!

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and director Shankar are some of the previous recipients of the recognition.

On the work front, Ram Charan will be next seen in Game Changer alongside Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani and Nassar. The political action thriller film has been directed by S. Shankar and produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations.

The actor became a pan-India star after his performance in RRR. The film received critical acclaim and even did a business at the box office.
