Patralekhaa on boyfriend Rajkummar Rao: Don’t know what the future holds but being together is enough

In an industry where relationships last a season, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa have been giving relationship goals to fans for the last 8 years.
In a heartwarming chat with Facebook community page Humans of Bombay, Patralekhaa opened up about her relationship with Rajkummar for the first time. The actress spoke about how they had first spotted each other on screen first, how they grew as individuals and professionals from their struggling days in Bombay to how they still keep the love intact even after 8 years of being together.

Patralekhaa admitted that she had found him 'weird' when she had first seen him in 'Love Sex Aur Dhokha' in 2010. " “I saw him for the first time on screen when I watched LSD. I thought that the weird guy he played in the film, was actually what he was like. My perception of him was already tarnished. He told me later, that he had first seen me in an ad and thought, ‘I’m going to marry her.’ It was so ironic!"

Love happened over a period of time for the couple. "Slowly we started talking about work, our love for cinema, our passion - everything. I saw him through his struggles, never giving up. How could we not fall for each other? We wouldn't officially go on dates, but we'd go for long drives, movies, or even sit at home and eat our hearts out. We'd even accompany each other for auditions - silently seeping in support. It's all we needed - that understanding."

Patralekhaa made her Bollywood debut opposite Rajkummar in 'City Lights' in 2014, she recalled the experience as magical. "The kind of passion he had was powerful - he'd bring everyone along with him like a tornado. He made sure that not only him, but everyone did their best, and I couldn't respect him any more than I did then!" she said.

Rajkummar who is known for his intense roles is actually a very good boyfriend. Even when they were struggling to make a mark in the industry, he would go out of his way to meet her. " Once, he was running late to see me, so he stopped the cab near the airport and ran all the way to Juhu! Not only that but when we were earning very little, he surprised me with my favorite bag, which was ridiculously expensive!" Patralekhaa revealed.

Calling their relationship of two equal people, Patralekha recalled, " We're equals - in fact, when some article said, 'Rajkummar Rao with his girlfriend Patralekhaa', he immediately retweeted saying, 'Patralekhaa with her boyfriend Rajkummar.' I can tell you this, when you find someone you're grateful for - through the fights, the hurdles and the chaos, you should never forget to let them know you love them."

While Patralekha states they are unsure of what the future holds for them but for the two being together is enough.
