'My comments about Marvel were stupid', accepts Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis no longer wants to diss Marvel films. Calling her previous statements “stupid”, the actress said that she is over her phase of throwing shade at Marvel Studios and has in fact spoken to Kevin Feige.

It all started recently when she was asked during a Comic-Con interview about the phase that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in right now. Jamie responded, “Bad”. When her response became viral and fans started questioning why she said what she said, the actress then issued a statement.

In a social media post, Jamie Lee Curtis stated, “My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better. I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud-slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or gameplay that is designed for clicks not content.”

She admitted that she shouldn’t have shaded Marvel like this in public. She also agreed that her assessment wasn’t bang on point considering the success of Marvel’s latest release, Deadpool & Wolverine. The film has had a great headstart and is now set to cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office. Marvel, however, did have a bad start to 2023 and saw several duds up until Deadpool & Wolverine.

Previously, Jamie Lee Curtis in 2023 had spoken about her film Everything Everywhere All At Once clashing with Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. At the time, she had claimed that her film was way more superior. Later, she clarified to People, “I have nothing against Marvel as an entity. I’ve seen a lot of Marvel movies. What I was talking about is that ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ was a little movie that could … and we were able to tell a multiverse story that really touched people. What I was trying to talk about was it doesn’t have to be a Marvel movie in order to be a spectacle and to really move you.”
