Liam Payne is no more. The former One Direction member has left a legacy that will be cherished by his fans for years to come. Amid the devastating news, a new report has emerged stating that Payne was facing a lot of struggle in his career.
As per Daily Mail, a few days before his death, Payne was dropped by his record label Universal Music. However, there is no official word on it yet.
In his time in One Direction, Payne was signed to Sony. After the band went on an indefinite hiatus, Liam signed a deal with Capitol Record, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, in July 2016 as he launched his solo career. But in a recent reshuffle, he came under the main label.

A source has told the publication: “Liam's advance was massive and he didn't recoup [it]. Out of all of the One Direction boys, Liam was on the wrong path musically.”With this label, Payne released one solo album LP1 in 2019, which wasn't able to land on expectations.
It has also been reported that the release of Liam's second album was put on hold before Universal dropped him.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Liam's PR also resigned earlier this month.
OnLiam's career, one source said, ''It is like all of Liam's music career that he had built up since he went solo eight years ago was crumbling, there was very little left for him. It must have absolutely devastated him.''
Following his death, the Universal Music group shared a tribute, ''We are devastated by the tragic passing of Liam Payne. His legacy will live on through his music and the countless fans he inspired and who adored him. We send our deepest condolences to Liam’s family and loved ones.”
Liam's cause of death revealed
On Wednesday, Liam died afterfalling from thehotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It has been said that Payne was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his death.
Several photos of his messy hotel room, where all things were thrown here and there, his smashed laptop with some powdery substances, tin foil, and a lighter were all over the place.
