Harry Styles is remembering his dear friend Liam Payne. A day after singer Payne's shocking death in Argentina, his One Direction bandmate has finally broken his silence on the tragic news.

Taking to his Instagram handle, the singer shared a picture of the late singer along with a grieving note reading, ''I am truly devastated by Liam's passing. His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honour to be alongside him as he did it."
He added, "Liam lived wide open, with his heart on his sleeve, he had an energy for life that was infectious. He was warm, supportive, and incredibly loving."

Concluding the post, he wrote, "The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life. I will miss him always, my lovely friend. My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and all those around the world who knew him and loved him, as I did."
One Direction members pay tribute to Payne
One Direction bandmates Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik shared a joint social media post, mourning the death of Liam.
"We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say," One Direction bandmates said on social media.
"But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly," they said.

On Oct 16, Payne died after falling from the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. According to a preliminary autopsy report, Payne died from multiple injuries and no defensive injuries were found, suggesting that no one was involved in the accidental fall.
