Deadpool & Wolverine is on a winning spree! Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's moviecontinue to shatter box office records, and amidst this, the cameo appearance of Blade actor Wesley Snipes has not only broken one but two Guinness World Records.

In the R-rated movie, Bladereprised his role as Eric Brooks aka Blade, a half-vampire "daywalker.''

Snipes first played the role in 1998 movieBladebefore reprising the role again in Blade II in 2002 and Blade: Trinity in 2004

Wesley Snipes’ Blade Breaks Guinness World Records

Snipes' cameo appearance as Blade in the 2024 movie makes him the Marvel hero with the longest career. His return comes 25 years and 240 days after he first played the character in 1998’s Blade.

The record was previously held by actor Patrick Stewart, who first played Professor X in X-Men (2000) and later reprised the role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).

Before the release of the R-rated movie,Patrick's record was set to be broken by Jackman, who has also reprisedthe role of Wolverine. He first played the role in X-Men (2000).

In addition to breaking the record for the longest-running live-action Marvel actor, Blades also broke the record for the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films,according to Guinness tabulations.

Snipes’ last appearance was in Blade: Trinity (2004), 19 years and 231 days before Shawn Levy's movie. The record was previously held by Alfred Molina, who reprised the role ofDoc Ock in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), 17 years after he first played the role in Spider-Man 2(2004).

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Snipes talked about his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, sharing how he was havinginteresting conversations about how to bringhis character back on the screen.

"Over the years, we've had very interesting conversations, some of them very substantive and some of them not," Snipes shared. "So I kind of resided that I was moving on from them, which is okay. I did three of them, and I thought they turned out pretty good. Not so bad... So we move on to other things, and bigger and better things, as well."

However, everything changed after he got the call from Ryan.Snipes said: “I thought it didn't make sense to me, but [when] you get a call from Ryan Reynolds out of the blue after 20 years, you go, 'Okay, I got to take this call. Let's see what this is about'.''

Since its release, Deadpool & Wolverine has been in the talks over all its surprise appearances. Apart from Snipes, the stars who have made a surprising appearance in the movie are Chris Evans, Henry Cavill, and Jennifer Garner among others.
