Meredith Grey to return! Grey's Anatomy to bring back OG character in new season

Meredith Grey will be back in the new season of Grey’s Anatomy. After bidding adieu albeit a temporary one in the last season, Ellen Pompeo’s character is said to return for a few more episodes. When Grey’s Anatomy returns for its 21st season, viewers will get to see what’s happening with Dr Grey and how her life has shaped everything that happened last season.
According to reports, Ellen’s character will appear in at least seven episodes in the forthcoming season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Shonda Rhimes production for ABC was launched in 2005 and has since been running to a great reception on TV.
Ellen Pompeo also executive produces the show and has an overall deal with ABC Signature. She will continue as the show’s primary narrator. Her return could be a part of the whole deal.
Ellen’s character has been in and out of the medical drama. In the last two seasons, she has had exits but only returned stronger. She appeared in eight episodes of season 19 and only four episodes of the 20th season. Ellen’s role as Meredith Grey has been reduced from being a series regular to a recurring one.
The last time she said goodbye to her doctor’s apron was when she said a temporary goodbye to Grey Sloan Memorial for her family’s move to Boston in the season 19 winter premiere of I’ll Follow the Sun. She later returned for that season’s two-part finale, “Wedding Bell Blues/Happily Ever After, but stayed on as the show’s voiceover.
