Actress Bunny Levine, renowned for her appearances in Gilmore Girls, Shameless, Law & Order and Chappelle’s Show, has died at the age of 97. She took her last breath at her home in Tarzana, California. The news was confirmed by her representative, Mike Eisenstadt, who stated that the actress died peacefully in her sleep.
Unlike many other actors, Levine's professional acting career did not begin immediately after college. Instead, she spent years working as a school librarian and raising her three children before returning to the profession she had wanted to pursue since childhood.

Bunny Levine's early life
Born Bernice Levine on December 22, 1928, in East Orange, New Jersey, Levine developed an interest in performing when she was very young.
Her enthusiasm for theatre continued through her school years. She later studied theatre arts in college and graduated in 1951. However, her personal life led her to put her acting ambitions on hold. She married while still in college and eventually devoted herself to raising her family.

For more than two decades, Levine worked as a school librarian in New Jersey while raising her three children with her husband, Bernard "Bernie" Levine.
After taking early retirement, Levine decided to pursue acting again. She began attending acting classes and auditioning for commercials, television projects and films. Her professional screen career eventually began in the late 1980s, with Slime City.
Following her husband's death in 2003, Levine relocated to Los Angeles, where she continued building her acting career.

She has had a prolific TV career spanning more than 100 screen credits, including As the World Turns, Law & Order, Everybody Loves Raymond, Las Vegas, Private Practice, Ugly Betty, Community, Criminal Minds, 2 Broke Girls, The Mindy Project, Fuller House and Mayans M.C.
She also appeared in Gilmore Girls, Shameless, New Girl, Getting On, Raising Hope and Southland.
Coming to her film career, Levine has also appeared in Slime City, Cadillac Man, The Jimmy Show, A Thousand Words, La La Land and Let Go.
She shared the screen with Adam Sandler in several projects such as You Don't Mess With the Zohan, Sandy Wexler, and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
Some of her final credits are The Upshaws and The Cure.
