Gal Gadot names India's Bilkis Bano in her personal list of wonder women

India's Bilkis Banu has found a new admirer in Hollywood actress Gal Gadot. The octogenarian was the face of the anti -CAA law protest in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh neighbourhood in 2020 and is popularly known as Shaheen Bagh dadi. Gadot has named her in her 'Personal Wonder Women' list.
Gadot, who was recently seen playing the title role in 'Wonder Woman 1984' shared a series of photos on her Instagram page, acknowledging women- young and old- from different walks of life from around the world.
“Saying farewell to 2020, with all my love to #MyPersonalWonderWomen Some are those closest to me – my family, my friends – some are inspiring women I’ve loved discovering, and some are exceptional women I hope to meet in the future,” Gal Gadot wrote in the caption of the post.
Gadot also shared Bilkis Banu's image on her Instagram story but wrongly captioned her image as she wrote, "The 82-year-old activist fighting for women’s equality in India showed me it’s never too late to fight for what you believe in."
She later deleted the story, but Banu's photo features in the post.
Bilkis Banu's popularity has risen over the past few months and she was also named as of the 100 most influential people of 2020 by TIme magazine.
Apart from Bilkis Banu, Gadot's list of Wonder Women also includes her 'Wonder Woman 1984'director Patty Jenkins, US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden, Kathrin Jansen, head of vaccine research at Pfizer, and activist Sofia Scarlet.
