Ariana Grande's latest red carpet look for Wicked attracted a lot of criticism due to her weight loss. However, the singer’s fan base was quite divided on this as many stood up for her and urged the rest of the people to hold back their harsh remarks.

This started when she appeared shockingly slim during an appearance in Mexico. At this time, netizens called her look “malnourished”. Grande’s fans defended her reminding people of the late Chadwick Boseman - the Black Panther star who was body-shamed for sudden weight loss while he was suffering from cancer but did not open up about it.

Remembering Chadwick Boseman

“You guys learned NOTHING from the Chadwick Boseman,” wrote one, with another sharing, “People gotta stop with this s***."

“Not here for the negative comments, but I do hope she’s in good health and everything‘s OK. They did Chadwick dirty on this app and then turned around and mourned,” read one comment.

Another user said, “People were horrible to Chadwick and he was such an amazing person, and she doesn't deserve this either, people need to let other PEOPLE breathe”.

️”Some people suffer in silence…you never know what they’re going through,” wrote one user. Another user shared, “Same guys tweeting this would be calling her names if she was a little bit overweight, you can’t please the internet.”

Ariana on body shaming

Ariana Grande is yet to react to what people have been saying about her body lately, she took to TikTok last year, to discuss how the comments affected her.

As a reminder to people that looks can be deceiving, she stated, “I know personally, for me, the body that you have been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants, drinking on them, eating poorly, and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider healthy, but that, in fact, wasn’t my healthy. Healthy can look different.”
