Fake alert! Allu Arjun’s old video goes viral with misleading claims

With the Lok Sabha elections going on in full swing in India, political parties and their supporters are going the extra mile to reach voters and convince them to vote in their favour. Amid the campaigns and rallies, politicians are also using social media to connect to the citizens and talk about their manifestos. At the same time, some fake videos are making their way to social media that are making people question how much they can trust what they see or hear on the internet.
After Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh, Allu Arjun has become a victim of fake claims online. An old video of the Pushpa actor is being circulated online, claiming that the actor is campaigning for the Congress party. However, the truth is that the video was originally shot in 2022 when Allu represented India at one of the most well-known annual events organised by the Indian diaspora in the US – the India Day parade. The actor was honoured with the title of grand marshal.
To mark 75 years of India's independence, Allu shared at the time, "It was an honour being the grand marshal at the India Day parade in New York." Check it out below!

Allu Arjun is yet to comment on the fake video doing rounds online.

Recently, Ranveer Singh filed an FIR over a viral deepfake video that showed him endorsing a political party and criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi over unemployment and inflation. The actor warned his fans about the deepfake video on Instagram, stating, "Deepfake se bacho doston (Friends, beware of deepfakes)."
After Aamir Khan's deepfake video went viral on social media, his spokesperson released a statement, which read, "We want to clarify that Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections."
Allu will be next seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule. Directed by Sukumar, it serves as a sequel to Pushpa 1: The Rise. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli. It will hit the theatres on August 15.
