Aerosmith is waving goodbye to touring! Three months after rescheduling the farewell Peace Out tour,
On Friday (August 3), the band officially announced its retirement, citing lead singer Steven Tyler‘s vocal cord injury as the reason.
Saying that Tyler's recovery from his vocal injury is not possible, the band said in a statement, ''We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury.''

They added, ''We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.”

In 2023, the band postponed their entire Peace Out: The Farewell Tour after Tyler’s vocal injury. The gig was seen as the final outing from the band.

Reflecting on their initial days, the group members said in a statement, ''It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history. ''
Formed in Boston in 1970, the group consists of Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass), Joey Kramer (drums), and Brad Whitford (guitar).
Known as one of the best-selling American hard rock bands of all time, they have sold more than 150 million records worldwide.
Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
