Aamir Khan's look from his upcoming film 'Thugs of Hindostan' came out on social media yesterday.

Aamir Khan’s look from his upcoming film ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ came out yesterday, much to the excitement of his fans and those looking forward to an update on the film. The movie also stars Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Sheikh in pivotal roles.

As Yash Raj Film’s revealed Aamir’s look, Twitterati was divided over how to respond. While some fans couldn't suppress their excitement, others labelled it as a copy of another famous character of a Hollywood film -- Jack Sparrow of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series played by Johnny Depp.

In the first look and motion poster of his character called Firangi, Aamir is dressed in white and brown with a green jacket, a black hat and red-tinted sunglasses. He is seen riding a white horse, and posing with a salute.

If you look closely, Firangi’s character looks a bit too much inspired from Jack Sparrow’s character. Soon after the look came out, some called Aamir ‘Gareebo ka Jack Sparrow' (Poor man's Jack Sparrow).

Another user was disappointed with the makers picking something from a Hollywood character and wrote: A child can see similarity between Aamir Khan's character in #ThugsOfHindostan and Jack Sparrow. Excitement gone kaboom. Another copy or as they say 'inspired'."

The film’s trailer will come out on September 27, this year. Also read: Aamir Khan has not signed any other project after 'Thugs of Hindostan', says spokesperson
