Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee has created history by becoming the third player to hit six sixes in an over of an international T20I. The Nepal batter reached the feat against Qatar on April 13 in Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men's Premier Cup match. Airee reached the milestone in 20th over of Nepal's innings against Qatar's Kamran Khan.

Airee, who was at 28 off 15 before the start of the final over, eventually finished with 21-ball 64 as Nepal posted 210/7 in 20 overs. He now has entered the list with India's Yuvraj Singh and West Indies' Kieron Pollard, who also have hit six sixes in an over in a T20I.

Yuvraj had hit England's Stuart Broad for six sixes during the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 while Pollard had smashed Sri Lanka's Akila Dananjaya in 2021. Overall, Airee is the fifth player to hit six sixes in an over in an international match.

Apart from the above three, South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs and the USA's Jaskaran Malhotra have also achieved the feat, albeit in ODIs.

Airee is not new to making records, he had also hit the fastest fifty in T20Is last year during the Asian Games as well. Batting against Mongolia, Airee scored 52 not out off just 9 balls - the minimum required to hit a fifty. He had hit six sixes in a row in that match as well, but they were spread across two overs. Nepal had also posted a record 314/3 - the first 300-plus total in T20Is.

As for the match against Qatar, Nepal restricted the opposition for 178/9 and won the match by 32 runs. For Qatar, skipper Muhammad Tanveer top scored with 33-ball 63.

Airee, who also took two wickets in the match for 34 runs in four overs apart from 64 not out, was aptly adjudged Player of the Match. Apart from him, Gulshan Jha and Lalit Rajbanshi also chipped in with two wickets each.
