IPL 2024: Fans speculate MI's Rohit crying after flop show vs SRH
Match 55 of the IPL 2024 edition saw the Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets, at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in pursuit of 174 on Monday (May 6). Hardik Pandya-led MI opted to bowl first and rode on the captain and Piyush Chawla's three-fers to restrict SRH to 173 for 8 before Suryakumar Yadav's 102 not-out propelled his side to a much-needed win after they were reeling at 31 for 3 at one stage.
During the MI run-chase, Rohit Sharma departed for a 5-ball 4. While Hitman started the season on a decent note, including a ton versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK),his scores in the last five gamesread 4, 11, 4, 8 and 6 (adding the SRH game as well). After his dismissal, a video surfaced online where the former MI skipper Rohit was seen sitting in sheer disappointment in the dugout. Fans speculated that the Indian captain was crying after his string of poor scores. Here is the video:

Rohit has so far managed 330 runs in 12 games in IPL 2024. It is crucial for the Indian captain to remain in good touch at the business end of the IPL season, which will soon be followed by the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA in June.
Rohit is set to lead the 15-man Indian squad in the upcoming T20 WC. India are placed in Group A along with Pakistan, USA, Canada and Ireland. Even though Hardik-led MI have very slim chances of entering the IPL 2024 playoffs, Indian cricket fans will hope for Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Surya to remain in form in the final stage of the ongoing IPL season.
