India's Rishabh Pant completed an epic comeback to Test cricket with a hundred in the second innings of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh on Saturday (Sep 21). This is Pant's first Test since his life-threating car accident in December 2022 which kept him away from competitive cricket for nearly 18 months. It was his sixth Test hundred which also put him on par with MS Dhoni for most Test hundreds for India by a wicketkeeper-batter.

Pant, who went into lunch at day 3 at 82 not out, came all guns blazing in the second session, hitting Shakib Al Hasan for a four and six in the second over of the session to reach to the nineties. Have a look at the boundaries below:

In the next over, Pant scored a four and took a single to reach to the 99 in Mehidy Hasan Miraz's over before completing his ton in the next over with a double.

Pant, however, got out shortly after scoring his ton with Mehidy taking a sharp return catch to dismiss him for 109. Pant's 167-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Shubman Gill put India in driver's seat as they took the total lead past 450.

Gill also scored his hundred soon after and become only the second India batter after Rahul Dravid to score a hundred at MA Chidambaram stadium, Chennai while batting a number three.

Earlier, India started day 3 on a positive note with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant continuing from where they had left on day 2. The duo had added unbeaten 138 runs for the fourth wicket with India being 205/3 and a total lead of 432 at lunch.

India eventually declared at 287/4 half-time into the second session, leaving Bangladesh with a huge target of 515 runs.
