
While ticket sale of the Coldplay concert in India’s Navi Mumbai is the talk of the town, cricket has not distanced itself from making the headlines. On Tuesday (Sep 24), Cricket Australia Executive General Manager, Events & Operations, Joel Morrison, confirmed the unprecedented demand for tickets for the upcoming India tour of Australia, which kickstarts on November 22. According to CA officials, there is a 5.5 times rise in ticket demandcompared to the 2019-20 pre-Covid season.
"The Border Gavaskar series is a highly anticipated event and current ticket sales demonstrate there is enormous interest in the upcoming contest between Australia and India,” Morrison, Executive General Manager, Events & Operations CA, was quoted as saying.
"Tickets are selling fast for all five Tests as excitement continues to build for the summer ahead, so we’re encouraging fans to buy tickets now to ensure they don’t miss out on any of the action."
"We also continue to see strong sales from Indian fans as well as Australian fans, presenting a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the enduring connection between our two countries both on and off the field, with a large contingent of travelling fans expected to attend Tests across the summer."

The Indian team will play a five-match Test series Down Under with Perth being the first destination. The Indian team has been victorious in the last two visits to Australia and also won the Boxing Day Test in 2020. Rohit’s men will look to repeat the heroics as they look to take a giant step towards the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord’s.
