Markets end in green, Sensex closes 0.54% firmer

Around 2.20pm, the Sensex traded at 35,095.26, up by 135.54 points or 0.39 per cent from the previous close of 34,959.72 points. 

Indian markets on Tuesday regained the losses incurred during the day and ended higher.

The stock market regained composure towards the end of the session, with the Nifty closing 0.58 per cent higher at 10,549.15, while the benchmark Sensex ended 0.54 per cent firmer at 35,150.01, news agency Reuters reported. 

While BSE Sensex registered over 130 points, Nifty went up at 10,532.90 points, 44.45 points higher during the late-afternoon trade.

Around 2.20pm, the Sensex traded at 35,095.26, up by 135.54 points or 0.39 per cent from the previous close of 34,959.72 points. 

BSE Sensex opened at 34,584.13 and witnessed a low 34,426.29 points.

The sudden resignation of Urjit Patel as the RBI governor had caused significant losses to markets in early trade today.

Early election trends also affected the domestic market which showed the Bharatiya Janata Party in a tight race with the Congress in the three out of five states.
