Ford has unveiled its latest creation for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb: the F-150 ‘SuperTruck', which is expected to have an astonishing 1,400 horsepower. This electrified model of the F-150 Lightning is one of the noteworthy efforts Ford has undertaken through this year to make its stand at the electrified race clear.
Pikes Peak is also known as the ‘race to the clouds’, and the F-150 marks its 102nd running. Acura will be the pioneer of the initiative with the ZDX BEV version upon becoming the official pace car to the mountainous ascent of 14,115 feet. To share more records at this year’s event, Hyundai plans to present the Ioniq 5 N models to maintain the tradition of electric vehicles.

When it comes to EVs, the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, which has been designed by a collaboration between the Ford Design team and STARD Advanced Research and Development, is a perfect example of the best that is currently available. It comes equipped with high levels of innovation in its twin GT wing spoilers, which can produce 6,000 pounds of downforce at speeds of 150m/h, STARD UHP 6-Phase Motors and Ultra-High Performance Li-Polymer NMC cells for its promising performance.
This has working traction, arising from an adjustable triple-element front wing, headlight and hood ducts, front dive-planes, side and rear diffusers, and a multi-element rear wing. The elements built into its setup are its magnesium forged wheels accompanied by carbon ceramics a4 brakes, and Pirelli P-Zero tires in addition to its fully custom in-board suspension system.
As for the car, Sébastien’s F-150 Lightning SuperTruck would be piloted by Romain Dumas, an experienced Pike Peak driver and record holder. Climbing the hill for next year’s competition, Dumas expects to take the performance of the SuperVan EV to the next level based on previous year’s achievement.
