French sports-car brand Alpine, which is owned by Renault, has announced that it is planning to enter the US market in 2027 with an array of electric vehicles. It has revealed a more specific roadmap for the US led by an electric coupe and convertible. This was revealed by Renault CEO Luca de Meo at the company's 2024 Annual General Meeting, Carbuzz reported.
In an attempt to diversify, Alpine has seven electric vehicles (EVs) in the pipeline. Aiming to increase its export sales from the present 40% to 50% by the year 2030, the brand stands on the cusp of a new chapter. To materialise this plan, it's new generation electric sports car will replace the company’s rally icon, the A110. It will create a new identity in the American markets and is set to be released in the year 2026 as a rival to other upcoming electric models of Porsche.

Alpine's entry into American will be anchored by a duo of SUVs - the A390 - a smaller vehicle which will share its platform with Nissan Ariya when launched in the next 2027. The other - A490 is expected to be a larger model related to the Porsche Cross Turismo silhouette.
The manufacturer is also intending to explore hydrogen-powered cars and one of the proofs of this concept is the Alpenglow Hy4. Unlocking a rich past of Le Mans racing, this latest edition of the racer is a blend of advanced technology packed with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that uses hydrogen via combustion.
Though the electric A290 hot hatch which is already awaiting its market launch is not planned for the American market, the brand is already determined not to stand still and lean on the success of its present models as it seeks to position itself for future expansion to the US market in the near future.
