The Vatican said on Friday (Feb 28) that Pope Francis suffered a "breathing crisis" which caused him to vomit, but he was given air and responded well. Pope is in hospital in critical condition with pneumonia in both lungs and is being treated in Rome&rsquo;s Gemelli Hospital.&nbsp;
In a statement, the Vatican said that the 88-year-old pontiff "experienced an isolated episode of bronchospasm".
"This caused an episode of vomiting, which led to him inhaling some and a sudden worsening of his respiratory condition," it added.&nbsp;

The United States on Friday (Feb 28) announced the approval of the sale of more than $3 billion in munitions, bulldozers and related equipment to Israel, which used American-made weapons to devastating effect in densely populated Gaza.

Trump administration approves $3 billion in pending arms sales to Israel

The meeting between Trump and Zelensky was nothing short of a disaster as the two leaders clashed in an exchange that played out before the world's media. Zelensky also left without a minerals deal which would have been a significant step towards a US-brokered peace between Ukraine and Russia to end their war that has dragged on for more than three years.
"I think that we have to be very open and very honest, and I'm not sure that we did something bad," Zelensky said in an interview with Fox News when asked about apologising to Trump.&nbsp;

"That's why I'm here. That's why we speak about the future negotiations. It will be difficult without your support," the Ukrainian leader said.&nbsp;

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview on Friday (Feb 28) said he won't apologise for an extraordinary clash with President Donald Trump at the White House earlier in the day. Trump Zelensky meeting LIVE updates: US President Donald Trump met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday (Feb 28), in what could be a crucial step towards ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The two leaders are expected to sign an agreement granting the United States partial access to Ukraine&rsquo;s mineral resources, as part of Trump&rsquo;s efforts to recover some of the costs of US military aid.
While full details of the agreement remain unclear, it is believed that it will establish a joint fund between the US and Ukraine. This fund would be financed by revenues from the extraction of rare earth metals and other valuable minerals in Ukraine, along with a portion of oil and gas profits. The money would then be invested in projects within Ukraine.
Following their meeting in the Oval Office and a working lunch, Trump and Zelensky are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at 1:00 PM ET.
<h3 data-start="984" data-end="1034">Tensions over exclusion from peace talks</h3>
Relations between Trump and Zelensky had become strained earlier in the month when Ukraine, along with European nations, was left out of US-Russia peace negotiations.

He said that their relationship had been &ldquo;a little testy&rdquo; over financial matters but insisted it was now on more stable ground.
Trump also offered words of praise for Zelensky, calling him &ldquo;very brave&rdquo; and saying, &ldquo;I get along with him really well.&rdquo;

World: China's Defence Ministry spokesperson  further said that the Taiwan question is an internal affair of China, which brooks no external interference.

"Zelensky was supposed to come to Washington yesterday, but someone from the Trump administration told him, 'Listen, there's no point in chartering a plane, don't come, all meetings have been cancelled, President Trump won't receive you.' This caused panic in Kiev," BFMTV reporter Patrick Sauce was quoted as saying by TASS.
In response, Zelensky reportedly called Macron multiple times, urging him to convince Trump to reconsider, as he had hoped to finalise an agreement on Ukrainian minerals during his visit. He also added that the meeting "would have had strong symbolic significance."
