
Karachi police shot down a suicide bomber and a militant on Friday (April 19) as they attacked a vehicle carrying five Japanese nationals, all of whom survived the attack, a police spokesperson said.
One suicide bomber detonated himself and the suicide attack was followed by firing which led to the killing of at least twoterrorists, as perthe police officials.
No injuries to the Japanese nationals were reported and theyhave been moved to a safe place in police custody, police spokespersonAbrar Hussain Balochsaid.
"The police mobile unit, which was nearby, responded to the attackers quickly and the security guards of the foreign guests responded immediately," Baloch added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and said the timely action of the police was crucial in saving lives.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack by any militant group.
The identities of the Japanese nationals were not immediately clear.
