Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and Republican nominee Donald Trump are currently in a nail-biting race as theelection day in theUnited States nears. However, the Democrats have reportedly been expressing fear about Harris'victory, whereas Republicans feel confident about Trump.

However, polls suggest that both candidates have a near-equal chance of entering the White House.

The Guardian's 10-day polling tracking average shows that Harris has been maintaining the single-point advantage over her Republican rival she had a week earlier, 47 per cent to 46 per cent.

According to the poll averages, Vice President Harris is leading by a single point in Michigan and by less than one per cent in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin and Nevada.

Meanwhile, Trump has been leading with two points in North Carolina and with one point in Arizona.

Even though Harris has been warning that Trump represents fascism and dictatorship-in-waiting, her Democratshave been nervous recently.

"A growing number of top Democrats tell us privately they feel Vice-President Kamala Harris will lose – even though polls show a coin-toss finish 11 days from now," Axios founders, Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei wrote in theirnewspaper on Friday (Oct 25).

"Our private conversations with Democrats inside and outside her campaign reveal broad concern that little she does, says – or tries – seems to move the needle," Allen andVandeHei wrote.

They also noted how the "top Democrats are already starting to point fingers at who'd be more responsible for a Harris loss — President Biden for dragging his feet, or Harris herself. 'Going down?'a top Democratic official texted," according to the Axios story.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign looks "shockingly confident", talking in "granular detail" about White House posts and policy playbooks for next year.

Moreover, Trump who is 78, has been rated "too old" by more than half of the voters, 51 per cent compared with just five per cent who said the same of Harris.
