Amid the backlash over confronting Vladimir Putin during Helsinki summit over election meddling issue, United States President Donald Trump in his latest tweets claimed that Russia is planning to meddle the mid-term congressional elections in November to help Democrats win the polls as has been "tough" on them.
"I’m very concerned that Russia will be fighting very hard to have an impact on the upcoming Election. Based on the fact that no President has been tougher on Russia than me," he tweeted.
He then said then claimed that Russia definitely don't want Trump.
"They will be pushing very hard for the Democrats. They definitely don’t want Trump!"
In past also Donald Trump has claimed that no other President has been as tough on Russia as he has.
During the cabinet meeting on July 18, Trump said, "We're doing very well, probably as well as anybody has ever done with Russia."
"Look at what we've done. Look at sanctions," he said adding, "And I think President Putin knows that better than anybody. Certainly a lot better than the media."
"He understands it, and he's not happy about it," Trump said. "And he shouldn't be happy about it because there's never been a president as tough on Russia as I have been, he said."
