Social media also witnessed posts featuring pictures and videos of Iranian women removing their headscarves and displaying them tied to the end of a stick.
The protest is against the law that requires Iranian women to cover themselves and put on a veil in public.
Protests followed Vida Mohaved release on Sunday.
Mohaved was detained by Iranian authorities in December for removing her hijab while taking part in an anti-government protest.
