A horse named afterDr. Anthony Fauci made its debut and finished second at a race in Belmont Park in New York.
The two-year-colt has been gaining attention due to its name. The horse has been named afterthe director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Co-owner Phillip Antonacci named the horse after Dr. Fauci, an Italian-American from Brooklyn,started doing daily coronavirus briefings from the White House. Phillip Antonacci claims to be a fan of Dr. Fauci.
"We wanted to honor the service that he's given to the whole world," Antonacci said. "Throughout the whole thing, he seemed like a voice that knew what was going on and, without trying to be too political, kind of calmed things and provided real data behind what was going on," he said.
Other names that surfaced to be famous during the pandemic included 'Social Distancing', 'Self Isolation', 'Flatten the Curve', 'Herd Immunity' and 'No Spectators'.
